2024 Season Update

Les Cheneaux Club Golf

Links Getting Improvements

We will be opening later than usual this season

We expect the Les Cheneaux Golf Club course will open later this summer while re-conditioning continues.  At first, it will open to limited play by Les Cheneaux Club members (starting July 12, 2024).  As soon as it will handle more golfers, the course will open for public play.  Golf season memberships will be available for purchase by the community as soon as an opening date is known.

Once open, newly seeded areas will be roped off, you will see several temporary tees and possibly some temporary greens.  Putting greens will be slow until the new grass can be mowed to a shorter height.  This will be a year of transition to what we believe will be a more enjoyable golf experience in the future for the entire Les Cheneaux community.

We recognize this will disappoint golfers looking forward to teeing it up early this summer, but vital course improvements began last fall and continue this spring.  Areas of turf damage on the putting greens are being re-seeded and several tee boxes were re-surfaced and re-seeded.  Spring seeding and cool nights slowed seed germination, delaying recovery of the course.  The course is littered with fallen and leaning trees after wind damage that create hazardous conditions.  These must be cleared before play starts.  Other trees will be removed around tee boxes because their root competition and shading contributed to the poor turf condition that needs repair.

Stay tuned to the LCGC website, our Facebook page, and roadside signs for course updates.
